Upwards! Vol.2

Higher pastures and Alpine grasslands are the result of delicate equilibrium and their preservation relies on the people living there and shepherds exploiting them. In order to enhance such breeding activities, during the first Upwards workshop (2021) the students from Politecnico di Milano developed micro-architectures to support transhumant shepherds. In the second workshop, one year later, students from Politecnico developed the furniture to host the exhibition at Fondazione De Bellat in Olle (Valsugana, Trentino). Here, together with Camposaz, the students realized three small structures inspired by the shapes of the shown projects and conceived to be dismantled, moved and placed again in different places. At the same time, the installations are in a deep and constant dialogue with the spaces where they are hosted. The three structures play with simple shapes reinterpreting the triangle and square figures into an archetipal hut or an ‘inhabited’ wall. The creative and open atmosphere was fully embraced by the participants who were from six different countries and contributed to another great result to see the Camposaz family grow.
